Listen to them really loud. See if you get any distortion. Bring a cd or something that you are familiar with. Also bring a cd with a .wav file, made in sound forge or something. It should be a sine wave at various frequencies. See if you see any distortion. But this is just from my tiny experience with testing how fucked up my speakers are, btu I guess that this technique will do.
What monitors are those if I may ask? |

Very good idea michael...!
You know nir, sound technician's actually use a sine Wave Oscillator custom built for that function. I cant see why a self made CD containing a running sine wave cant do the same thing.
you should start the since wave from 4-5Hz and up to at least 20Khz. (You cant really hear frequencies below 20Hz But the speakers do play them, and might produce audible distorted frequencies)
By the way michael, you can test your speakers using 'C' like a sine wave oscillator by rerouting the sound function from the PC speaker into the soundblaster :)
Just be careful, 7Hz kills Chickens!!! LOL :) |

Woo! I'm using sound tech's method without even knowing it :-)!
I have my CS1x... Not exactly an analog synth with oscillators, but it has a sine wave in there.
Where did you find out about the 7hz? I know the help of Pascal or C++ (one of them) has it... :-) |

Exactly from there! :) :) one of them... (god what are we reading we freaks we!!:))
sadly the cs1x cant make sounds or frequencies from the ground. (maybe only thru software but i haven't tried it) It can produce such wonderful sounds i just wish you could have more control over the sounds and envelops. |

I have a sine wave there... Patch 2 on the preset bank, just turn off the arpeggio strip off effects (delay & reverb by default) and there you have a pure sine wave :-)

Have you tried the yamaha "Blue Book" for the CS1x yet?
Great stuff! can really teach you how to control the guts of your Blue Synth... :) (in a SysEx sort of way) and it comes with a user bank full of SINE/SAW/SQUARE/WHATEVER Waves
They also have the "Silver Book" for the CS2x, I guess its kinda tradition for Yamaha.
