study destination with good trance scene

Hiya,
I'm thinking of studying french for a year somewhere in france, but need to be sure I'm somewhere that has a good trance/festival scene.
Paris is good, I know, but toooooo expensive!!
Can you guys give me any hints of other places, maybe in the South. like Toulon, Nice, Marseille...

as my nick says, i'm from montpellier.
i study here, it's a great city with lots of possibilities for studying.....
there are about 80 000 students on a general population of about 300 000 people.
we got some nice trance here, it's like anywhere in france, meaning, not very popular!
u should come here, cause it's a young city especially for students.
nice is ok, but it's quite expensive especially on holiday time.
toulon is an FN city, extreme right, a friend of mine went there to study, he got attacked by skinheads cause he is black.
marseille = very big city, beautifull.... but toooooooo many arabs, gangsters.....
