I wonder what's the jazz about it. I imagine it as something very limited and not really comparable to Cubase.
Can you tell what is special about it? Are there any unique options or some great sounding plug ins? Whats fresh and new about it in comparison to other sequencers?           https://soundcloud.com/shivagarden

hey ansolas,
the version is 2.5 and it's a wonderfull update, sure it's not perfect there are some bugs..it crashed many times already but my actual system it's not perfect either.
some new features:
1) record audio realtime from group/track
2) drag drop fx on events
3) some improvements on folder track
4) render audio from midi multiout vst !!!!!!!!!!!!! great!!
5) drawing automation improvements
6) free softube saturation plugin wich is quite nice

and many other things.

For me its the workflow the best thing about S1.
Single window enviroment(I mean single!!I used to hate cubase for this reason), best broswer around just on the rigth of the arrangment.
drag and drop everything from the broswer to arrangment and from the arrangement to the broswer. when you drag events, midi, audio you can transform them to audioloops, audio just everything saving track, preset midi everything.
Shall we want to talk about the mastering project page?I render my mix, I import it to the project page in one click..oh I made a mistake in my mix,I go back to the song page in on click(the project and song page are open simultaneously) and so forth, it makes working with mastering and mixing a breeze.
the mastering page is nice, nice effects, nice metering(K-14, k-20,..), you can burn cd, make mp3, upload to soundlcoud directly.

For sure there some things missing but we are at version 2.5 so..
for me it is just perfect, probably the thing I'm missing most is some arrangement features.

cheers

Like i say the workflow is very good very simple and fast. The media files is better then cubase, more easy, the plugs are good only things "cranks" was the distortion vst but nowdays people work more with third part plugs. This DAW for me its a blend of cubase and logic software with better control.

I think people should try this software.

IĀ“ve worked with cubase since 2006 but when the Studio One has released i tested and i saw this software has great potential to compare with cubase, logic and live.
