No one mentioned the Sony MDR 7506, which are in my opinion the best headphones for mixing and producing, for the road, and also to check your studio mixes.
Simple design, very light on the head, blocks out noise pretty good, excellent ( imo ) sounding without too much color, especially the low frequencies of the bass are exceptionally well produced.
Those headphones are apparently the default in any serious post production studio in the US. After using them for a year and a half, I can't say its surprising.
Their value for money is the best there is by far, since they cost only 99$ in the US, which is ridiculously cheap if comparing to Sennheiser or AKG.
Those headphones NOT GOOD for DJing tho, so take that into consideration.
