so, it's the same synth but you can choose the filter. it's like going to a pizza place and choosing your favourite topping! the 1st thing that sprung into my mind is if they're gonna release one synth with all 4 filter types aka the "fantasia". now THAT would be wicked

Looks like a strong competitor to what is on offer in the price range.
Waiting for the Arp and Ob clips to hear what it sounds like.

looks really sexy.. and a nice way of a "custom" synth by letting you choose which filter you want. i mean the filter (and osc) makes the sound, and often synths are just bad or great because of the filter.. and they offer a nice sonic palette to choose from! somebody did some well cool thinking here imho.
the only thing that pushes me more into the pulse 2 direction so far is the paraphonic mode. analog chords and stabs would be so damn sweet.
still waiting for the pulse samples though to see how capable it is.

personally if i would buy one synth it would be probably one of these..studio electronics make good stuff, just the envelop can sucks but i see in these synth their are analog and not digital like on some of their old synths. so they probably fixed what people dont like (usualy find them a little slow )and made very snappy envelop..filters and osc it will be probably reallly good , i hope ! |

as far as i can see this years ist going to be between the studio electronics and the pulse two.........waldorf urghh!!! will wait and see
arturia mini brute sounds dreadfull imho
filters remind me of rubber duck quacky as fuck
fuck it am thinking of buildind a modular virus b....great synth stucture shit sound

i think the SE synths will sound way better than the pulse for raw analog sound but the pulse will be great for lot of things. |
