I try to build up whilst keep things interesting. There is a peak where the tune just releases, but I take my time to get there, give things a bit more space and the tempo (136 being my favourite for trance) leaves so much more space for the bottom end. I love it.

To give a more meaningful example, check the third tune called "Hands Off" on www.myspace.com/discohooligans
Its an old version of the track and the quality is shite, but you'll get an idea of the structure I am on about.

I think the structure would depend on the kind of tune u intend to produce... if its going to be dance-floor friendly then stick to the so called rules / 'Norm' of having a structure..... otherwise, if its pure psychedelia then there are no hard and fast rules....

just as long as it has the basic elements and breaks, lifts, downers (as i call them), ambience, a melody if you like and some stabs all creatively flowing....

you can stretch certain areas of a tune as long as you want but bringing it to a downer and then lifting it back up following it up with a change in either the bass-line, melody, lead, kick variation of just re-shuffling the percussion.....

while using a melody, stick to one key and musically shuffle it to higher or lower octaves.....

bro, let your creativity go wild..... dont get stuck with rules and the norms.... just do your stuff and let the music flow

I dont think many will agree with me on what im saying but its just my advice based on what I believe
