the problem:
I'm rendering tracks out of reason for the first time, i use fruity and reason and i use cubase to do the mixdown. To do that i render everything track per track out of reason and fruity. The strangest problem appeared... All tracks are perfectly in tempo with cubase (146BPM), but 2 tracks, both redrum tracks keep running out of sync... I have to cut the wav in certain places where it gets too much out of sync and then move it a little forward to get it in sync again, and that every 4 measures or something like that... The difference is not even half a BPM, but the redrum renders run a little faster then my other tracks... I thought that it was because i rendered it on another machine then the machine i use to render the fruity tracks and do the mixdown on, but if i render it on the same machine the problem keep coming back.
Then i checked the original setup with midi sync enabled, and it still tries to run faster, but the midi-sync makes sure it stays in check, yet i can hear it drifting and then jerking when it syncs up again... I didn't hear that before i did all the rendering though, it's barely audible if you don't know what you're listening for...
Another problem, if i render a placeholder file out of cubase or fruity at 146BPM, my friend (the one using reason) has to put the tempo of his reason project to 145 to be close to the tempo of my render, but even then he too has to cut and move around parts every few bars to keep it all synced up...
Any tips and hints would be very welcome... It's not a horrible problem, but it is one that makes us lose a lot of time we could spend on making music...
Has anybody ever seen this problem before? Or do i have some kind of strange unique problem? i'm using the latest version of reason, cubase SX2 and flstudio 5 |
