i think it would be too much work personaly but a great demo is good selling point ...always when i check mastering sites ,the demo are a bit usless cause of the big volume boost and i m too lazy to match the volume by myself..the volume boost is part of the mastering so..i think both are needed one demo like your first one plus a other demo with unmastered track with a limiter vs mastered maybe |

i second that, when i look at demo sites they are never level matched so its useless as has been said. I think [RMS matched via limiter] vs [mastered] would be best.

Awesome! I really look forward to finishing some of these tracks I've been working on the past couple months. Now I have something exciting to look forward to. |

From the Soundcloud page for the demo:
"To allow an accurate comparison to be made, peak levels of 'Before' and 'After' sections are approximately matched at the loudest point in each track. Exact level matching is impossible due to the nature of unmastered mixes.
Note that the SoundCloud waveform display does not accurately show peak levels; check your meters if you are unsure."
I'm really not trying to pull the wool over anyone's ears here. 'Matching peak levels' might seem easy on the face of it but it's only when you actually try to do it that problems come up. Finding the peak level of the mastered track is easy enough as it's going to be consistent most of the way through the track - in my case it's -0.1dBFS. But which peak level in the unmastered track do you match that with? If you're still not sure what I mean, take a look at one of your own unmastered tracks and try to figure out which peak in it would be most representative of the track as a whole.
FYI in this demo, the peak level of the unmastered sections is actually LOUDER than the peak level in the mastered track, for a couple of them.
