Hi guys I hope this is ok to post here.

As part of OOOD's new website OOOD.net, I've got a mastering area set up. If you'd like to know what I can offer, who I've worked with in the past and what some of them say about it, you can get there directly by going to http://mastering.oood.net

OOOD.net also contains everything you never wanted to know about OOOD, including over 50 DJ mixes and a selection of live sets in various genres, all available for free download. There's also a forum if you have any comments or suggestions or just want to tell us how awesome you think we are. nice site man, something i really dont like and i m sure i m not the only one, is in the mastering example with that big boost of volume it make it hard to a/b and to hear if mastering enhanced the sound but i dont see how you could do it differently anyway...level matching them maybe ,to explain one have just clean gain the other have the full mastering chain but it make things maybe too complicated for clients

You have a special and unique sound that makes you stand out for me.
I enjoyed your work in the past with some compilations you've mastered if i remember right so i only expect you'll keep delivering it.

Big respect and Good luck with this and maybe in the future i'll make you master my crap           http://soundcloud.com/magimix-1/chilling-forest-whispers

Yeah this is something I considered when I made that demo. I'm working on a new one now, (with other people's tracks rather than my own!) and this will be peak-level matched, rather than just switching between the unmastered and mastered versions. Hopefully this will show the difference between the unmastered and mastered sound more accurately.

Thanks for the kind words guys, hope to see you out there or in here somewhere Keep on keeping on           Mastering - http://mastering.OOOD.net :: www.is.gd/mastering

Yeah, Mark has spent months of hard work to get this thing up and running, and I can't say how grateful we all are. He's been amazing to work with - very accomodating and patient. Check him out at www.suloo.de           Mastering - http://mastering.OOOD.net :: www.is.gd/mastering

nice! but shouldnt it be rms level to compare, or the felt volume... peak level would be unfair too

cheers

I started doing the new demo with comparisons of perceived level but the problem I can found with that is that it is inevitable that dance music loses some dynamic range in mastering, and when you hear the comparison, all you notice is the squash. I agree that comparing peak levels is better than just comparing before/after though.           Mastering - http://mastering.OOOD.net :: www.is.gd/mastering

That's possible, although I don't think you'd get an idea of the exact difference the mastering will make if the unmastered track is limited.

How about this:
Three comparisons for a section of a track:
1) Matched peak levels
2) Matched RMS
3) Before/after
Would that be useful to people, or do you think it would be too much work for little practical use?

Actually, to be honest I haven't tried it yet with matched RMS. I'll give that a shot first.
