From what I understand, its delaying the signal on the left and right hand sides differently to create more width between them and provide a location fro them between the two (stereo) speakers.

The way this creates a "stereo image" is how your brain processes the slight delay between the audio signals, thus providing a 3D position in the recording for the instrument. The effect can be as subtle as a slight transparency in the sound, or the illusion of sounds spinning around as what you would get with serious panning.

Basically your brain is trying to position the sound based on the delay its recieving. In a way, its sort of like the 3D image that dolphins and bats get using their sonar... sort of

very nice!!

i thought it got more into pan in the mix?

may be something also as u say create space or 3D effect
but i thought simply to arrange instruments like they do in show.. hihat left.. snare middle.. bass middle.. guitar right..

the delay theory is nice for sure tho! thanx for explain

its not just delay and whatnot, you can put one sound out of one speaker, and one sound out of another, and create a stereo "TONE" which seems to be coming from inside the listeners head.

Diffrent parts of a pad sound or complex bassline can also be put out of each speaker for much added depth           G+ - Army Collective - Kontakt Recordings

and yes, in deed stereo imaging is all about placing diffrent sounds in diffrent places in 3d space           G+ - Army Collective - Kontakt Recordings

try to obtain the waves bundle. It features a nice analyzer called paz analyzer. In there you got a visualisation of your stereo image.

In the same package you'll get the s1-imager. There you can spread the signal so it touches anti-phase (important measuring tool to make sure your sound is mono-compatible.

your host should support different panning laws, that will enable to set the spread of a signal easily.

A very useful trick to get more depth in your stereo image is to mono a lead, pan the source on a monogroup hard left, and on another monogoup hard right. Now delay one of the hard panned channels below 25 miliseconds. this will make leads stand out of the mix and is used often in pop/rock etc .

hope that helps, here some more stereo-spreading tools:

wavearts panorama (5.1 ?)
nomad bluetubes
camel space
native cubase plugins

I could need some more suggestions too.           soundcloud.com/epsylohm

Can anybody explain me ?:

I am using Waves Paz Analyzer and some of the sounds are going into the red area (AntiPhase).
What does it means ? what is this AntiPhase ?
Should i decreese the stereo Image ?

I also realize that those sounds are ok if the speakers are close and it sounds clear...but if the sperkers are at long distance it doesn't sounds good anymore..

try converting it to mono... there are some plugins that can do this (example PSP Vintage Warmer). if it sounds bad as mono it's an antiphase problem.

you should take care that a single sound won't stay longer than 3 seconds in anti-phase. so sais the manual/tutorial atleast if I remember correctly. If a sound stays longer in anti phase, mono compatibility issues arise.

you can have some some quick peaks on the anti-phase but if u see a whole section of ur track there then something's wrong.
