Hello there!!! Im using the stereo imager from waves, wich I thing is really good.(if u know of a better one, please feel free to let me know XD).
annyways I have a serious ram problem. so I cant leave anny plugins in the channel, I have to bounce everything. and until now it has been working for me.I been searching in the forum and most of the feedback related to ram, and how to save it,is that istead of havig a plugin for every channel, it was good to put some plugins as a send and not as an insert. so my question is. Can I put the stereo imager as a send,? or stereo imagin is a proces that can unly be put as an insert?

i guess it can be used as a send. But do it moderately because if you use it all the way you can get phase cancellation, which results in falling away sound if you listen in mono. |

sure u can,
just send the sounds from each channel u wanna spread to the return with the stereo tool on it. i mean u can send each channel, no need to route all channels to the return.
btw if u dont mean the waves panorama plugin, i dont know the one u´re using. i like the flux stereo tool, it´s really cool and authentic imo and at least for free. just have a look here:

try to use synths with good and authentic fx section that u dont need to process the sound too much after. pretty lot have things like minimum: spread, delay, reverb and some sure also have much more. zebra is pretty cool and surge, the ones i tend to use.... anyways i have no problem puttin another fx plugin behind and maybe another stereotool to give it again more spread. but these both offer many strong fx and sure spread parameters.
in short u should work on the source so that u dont need to spread the sound and work with synth that offer u some good fx and the stuff u need

Brain-Worx Bcontrol - simply the best in opionion
For Visual i would recommend roger nicols inspecter xl also the blue version is good for M/S imgaging |

depending on the plug in, you should only have only the wet signal going to the master out when using a stereo imager on the sends, otherwise you are going to run into phase cancellation hell! also make sure your sequencer has PDC on the busses.

phase cancilation can be sorted with a m/s imager too though, so know worris aslong as there is some mono within the sound or the stereo width narrowed

This type of plugs works better as inserts... so as compressors and stuff...
Sometimes I use Luxonix LFX-1310!
Freeware multi-fx unit. It has a simple stereo imager. Light on CPU

For RAM, if you are on Windows you may increase the size of pagination file. It creates more virtual memory.
It's not as efficient as physical ram but it may help a bit  |
