Steinberg soundcards are great..just be aware that they do not have midi ports..you would need to use an external one..but sound , preamps and drivers are great for sure..

if cubase 6 artist is enough for you..

wich interface exactly do you mean since there are two different ones..           -------......-------...-..-..-..-.-.-.-.-

i read alot about the interface.
make sure to have the right firewire chipset!
there are problems with the wrong chipset... make sure to buy it somewhere you can give back the interface if its not working.

once you made it working with C6 it should be really nice, preamps are very good! (owning RME from what ive read) and records are made very fast with the autorouting...

it depends on what you whant, if you are not into recoring alot i´d buy a smaller interface for about 300€ and maybe get the cc121 cubas controller. i own it and its really a nice workflow increaser (S,M,R,W, perfect autofaders, transportfield are used most of the time, really integrated into cubase).

oh, and i would not buy the expensive version of the steinberg interface, since the additional options are more like a waste...

cheers

If they great so thats already an good news .

For the midi port , Yes i understand what you mean But at the same time most of the time this is not important when theres usb (Keyb - Computer) .

enough for me ? M8 No need more , Cubase artist is fit to 99% of the all producers i know , No need more , This is all about more tools here and there , This is not about the sound , At the sound point there are all the same , You can buy the minimal cubase 6 (Light) in 600 Nis and work - Same quality . Its about knowledge and experience thats all . If 13 years ago i workt on Cubase 2 So Cubase 6 Artist today are not enough for me .. ? She's enough .

well..the smaller versions are even limited with how many tracks you can apply and stuff..i guess artist version would be fine, i just wanted to point that out to be aware of..

sure sound is the same..           -------......-------...-..-..-..-.-.-.-.-
