Is it just me?

I feel that debut albuns have a lot of passion inside, even without high graded production. There´re not so much expectation, nor a lot of dancefloor tests. So, artist is not pushed to "burn down the house", or to achieve a minimum sound production stage.

The result, most of time, leads to inovative debut albuns versus "cold and well produced" later ones.           LOADING...

I disagree. For example Electric Universes "Unify" album IMO is easily up there with One Love & Star Diver. I just think most ppl get tired of the same style after many albums.

Space Tribe for example IMO has only produced enough quality tracks for 1 album, the rest are pretty poor to be fair. His debut was IMO pretty shocking.

I prefer a well thought out compilation of fresh tracks than an album anyway.

Nowadays anything fresh either album or compilation is about as rare as it can get. Too high quantity with a big lack in quality control.           Cuntus Maximus.

I think I was not clear enough. I´m talking about artists albuns (debut one and the following ones).

I could name lot of artists that really disapointed me at the second album: Protoculture, Altom, Space Tribe, Astrix, Sesto Sento.

Indeed my experience starts around 2000. And I guess around 2002 that "production factor" started to dominate the tracks.

No there wasn't any misunderstanding at all. You just fail to see that it added some extra views to the topic that whist not entre my relevant did not hurt or change the topic in any exceptional way either.

Have a pleasant day.           Cuntus Maximus.

Got your point OzMike.

From your point of view, I would also prefer good fresh compilations.

But as stated on the topic, it´s more about statistics. If I would rank artist´s albuns, I guess debut albuns would have better classification.

Have a nice weekend OzMike!           LOADING...

Yeah true there are some amazing debuts. Some amazing one off albums as well like Pigs In Space, Tandu & Cydonia.

Dark Soho's first album was pretty amazing as well once it got remastered properly.           Cuntus Maximus.

When I got the first version I had a very big wtf moment

Although the remastered version I was always disappointed they removed the sample from Depth Of Emotion.           Cuntus Maximus.

you have a point there.

there is two things for me, both have been mentioned by you and mike.

one thing is, you make a debut, its awesome, you want to repeat your sucess -> selfcopycat leads to boring follow ups just to please the crowd.

or you make something good, play it for 2 years around the globe, get bored, start something different..

a lot of good artists changed their style (techno, anyhting non psy) after one or two albums and get no love from the original fans anymore.

so yes, there is a shitload of debut albums that are genredefining and awesome and the large majority of follow up albums does not live up to that, at least in direct comparison from the psy perspective.           http://www.ektoplazm.com/free-music/stereofeld-frequenzwechsel
