hi all
i've got this old nitzer ebb record which has all this static on it when i play it. there's no scratches or dust on it, so i don't know why it does it.
does anyone know how i can fix it?

hmm most vinil has some kind of noize that comes from the grooves etched in the vinil
there is a package designed to remove that noise and 100000000 dedicated to simulate it (check trip-hop songs, many have sampled vinil cracks) |

There could be a lot of very fine scratches on it that aren't very noticable by looking - not much you can do about that. There also might be dirt/dust down in the grooves. The record might be cleanable - there are a lot of different types of record cleaners out there. I think GrooveGlide is one of the brands out there. A lot of my records get like this from playing outdoor gigs where it is really dusty.
