Hi there,
hoping some of you electric wizards can help me out here. I have no knowlegde what so ever about electronics and wireing etc.. So putting my faith in you..

I am having a really annoying static noise coming through my speakers (mostly right one). It seems to come from the wallplug. If I connect all my electronical equipment to the kitchen plug there is no noise. But when I plug it back into the studio wallplug the noise comes after a second or 10-30..

I tried two different soundcards and different computers, problems stay. I tried different electrical wires, problem stays.

Is the electrical group in my studio faulty? Can it be something else?

Ok.. located the problem to the virus TI. Probably faulty power. As soon as I unplug the power it is gone.. =S           soundcloud.com/supergroover

Did you make sure all components of your daw are plugged into the same outlet?           Upavas - Here And Now (Sangoma Rec.) new EP out Oct.29th, get it here:

Hi,

Before this problem drives you crazy.

It's caused by a faulty ground loop most likely. I had it on my Yamaha HS-80m monitors. It happened when I moved my mouse... it was insanely annoying. Replacing your power strip will likely not fix the issue.

I found a video on Youtube and bought this product, and the problem has not plagued me since.

The little devices aren't cheap, but it completely cleared up my problem.

Thanks for the replies so far. I think it is a faulty powersupply from the TI. So i ll try that.

Upavas: yes they are all coming from the same outlet.           soundcloud.com/supergroover

My friend also recently had exactly the same proble with his Virus TI Snow, so I'm pretty sure it's a Virus issue.           http://hermetechmastering.com : http://www.discogs.com/artist/Gregg+Janman : http://soundcloud.com/babaluma

If it IS the mains (i.e. the clicks happen when someone opens or closes the fridge, or the HVAC goes on or off), then you can either make sure your studio is on a completely separate electrical circuit (often requiring the services of an electrician), or you can try one of those "mains conditioners" as offered by Furman etc.           http://hermetechmastering.com : http://www.discogs.com/artist/Gregg+Janman : http://soundcloud.com/babaluma
