Hi, everyone who hears what music I listen too always complements me on my taste. They say I have an ear for what sounds good. So I was curious if I could actually make music. I basically want to see if I have any skill without spending money on any major hardware until I know I can go somehere with this hobbey. What is the best way to do that? Is there computer software that is recommended for a beginner? Keep in mind I have no musical background except for an ear for what sounds good.

Download yourself a demo of FL studio. Try messing around with it & if you think you have the ability & patience to learn music production then get the program. Be aware though that there is a steep learning curve so don't give up. Read the manual of the program, go through the demo songs to see how a track is structured & be sure to check this section daily! Good luck!
