basicly without getting into the small ugly details what you need to start a label are a few things:
1. you need an idea,a line of thought what style are you going to specialise in,focus is very important.
2. contacts & connections. essential to start with you need option for various artists that make your style.
3. financing. you need a sufficient amount of money to start with. It varies from country to country but I would assume it will take 5000-10000$ minimum to start with.
4. good spirit. You have to work from fun first and after that for the money that way you insure to yourself that you will enjoy it and when you enjoy in what you do you usually succeed.
5. patience. good things come slow. make sure you have the time to wait pressure is not a helpful feeling.
6. last and least for now luck! you must always wish for good luck.

You need money to finance your first 2 compilation/albums because otherwise you cant have a legal corporation
