To me the voice sounds like a normal male-voice, although spoken a bit rigidly. What makes it robotic, is it's sort of chopped up quality - not chopped as in gated, it should be much faster. This is exactly what AM does, and if the frequency is around the lower threshhold for human hearing (18-22 Hz) then I think it will sound like the robot... Well, maybe a bit faster, it's been ages since I messed with AM

I think cool robot voices can be achieved with ring modulation in soundforge or a similar aplication
  roll a joint or STFU :) |
