Hey... I am wondering if there is a vst effect that will basically create an LFO and have it control different parameters on a synth that doesn't have a LFO built in. I know Orion has a LFO tool, but I am looking for a VST one that could be used in Logic 5.5           An Eagle may soar, but Weasels don't get sucked into jet engines.

In the environment in Logic, there's a possibility to create an LFO object, and make it control a certain cc#...

Just look at the objects in the environment window .

hmm.,., problem will be that midi has a very low resolution for lfo's
midi lfo's are still usefull but not as much as properly scaled and smoothed internal lfo's.,

just a thought.,

u are absolutely right ZilDOggo!! U can actually hear 'stepping' when creating a midi-lfo, and it gets worse when u slow down the sweep and/or increase the depth... But it's not really bothersome in practice... 128 steps are just about enough for most applications...

I wish to see that too, but it takes more then a new plug-in. There has to be an interaction between plug-in and hosts like the midi communication. It would be cool if you'll have a side chain in the plug-in that get lfo from the host or another plug-in. Reason is doing it, but it a closed to 3rd party developers.           "a new art came into my mind which only you can create, the Art of Noises, the logical consequence of your marvelous innovations." I just found something... Pluggo 3.5 has a LFO plugin that is supposed to do exactly what we are talking about...

Anybody ever used pluggo before?           An Eagle may soar, but Weasels don't get sucked into jet engines.

FL Studio has a really useful plugin: Fruity Peak Controller. it has a built-in LFO and you can assign knobs to this LFO (but you will have to use fruity i think).

copy-pasted from the help file:

Fruity Peak Controller
LFO Section

Sets the options for the LFO controller.

.LFO Shape - On the top of that section you can see a set of radio buttons that allow you to set the shape of the LFO. The available choices are sine, triangle, square, saw and noise (random values).

.Volume wheel (VOL) - This wheel sets the amplitude of the LFO. The value you can set ranges from -100% (maximum to left) to 100% (maximum to right). When using positive values for this setting, LFO's value is summed with the base value. For negative values, LFO's value is subtracted from the base value.

.Tension (TNS) - Drag up and down to alter the shape of the curve used to map the LFO values to LFO controller values. You can think for this parameter as LFO's "tension".

.Speed wheel (SPD) - Sets LFO's speed. Turn to left to speed up the LFO. Turn to right to slow down.

.Phase wheel (PHS) - This wheel sets the phase offset for the LFO. You can use it to adjust the start position of the LFO.           .

Fruity loops also get LFO-automation clips, LFO automation generator, and one of the best is the Formular Controler with that u can make ur own lfos, crazy lfos. In fruity u get so much lfos, just beatiful

@WAVELOGIX yeah i could try to make a MIDI-Lfo but then it only get 128 steps.            Signature
