Install your DAW on/in your operation system...
Backup your whole installed operation system on another drive...
Use another drive for your DATA (.cpr, samples etc.) and backup (search a good backup-solution) it also...
- Backup your DATA maybe every day, every week - In sense of how much you work...
This means you have maybe 4 drives...
2 for workspace and two for backup... |

simple answer: YES
also keep in mind that for huge track counts, an ssd can handle many requests (for several files/samples) much better. so it's a good idea to like, call in the samples and renders/bounces to the main SSD, then copy and save files to project folder and move it to some other, not as fast drive for storage and later recall if needed. |
