Oh dear! I have made you nervous, didn't I?
Must be, because when we get to the "do you know who I am" part and your every other sentence is futile effort to insult me and make you look smarter by making me look stupid... And you write many sentences...
So I am:
way too arrogant for my very limited intellect
deluded
faulty in assumptions
senseless idiot etc
and you are:
- heard by literaly millions of people
- freelance sound engineer that gets called by the studios
- and if I've had a honor to knew your name I would recognize you on a credits page of test
- the expert in music, production, politics, and in science in general
It must be horrible when you are "the best of the best" but all you manage to do is waste time on primitive idiots with false logic.
I once again feel sorry for you. I'm really lucky to be such a dumb and ignorant savage

I don't see what would my music told us about sampling rate and other topics. Of course, you would love a chance to make further fun of me so I'm not surprised to see you almost begging me to hear my music. Like how low can you go

Your problem is that you are way too arrogant for your very limited intellect and are too damned stupid to realise it. You are deluded |

Man this is harsh !!!!!
Shamantrix is obiously a deep thinker who thinks he understands everything and try to convince people while his in fact confusing most of them cause he doesn't really know what he is talkin about. hence the drug theory cause its a common symptom.
Shamantrix you should listen too cause you cannot possibly know everything.
I think you are an intuitive guy, cause I strongly beleive you don't bother reading properly the sources you use to increment your knowledge. You probably read a bit here and there and your brains makes up the rest.
You therefore get it right sometime and really wrong some other time. that would make you less of a stupid but more of stubborn who hits the wall everytime.

Undertow, like you I work in the movie industry as a soundeditor, I compose some sound (when I have time). Probably like you I have learned about the specifics of DSP at school and agree with you on every count. BTW. the acepted sampling rate on major film productions is 48k.
The higher sample rate has to do with timecode and conversion from 24fps to NTSC, I don't want to get into that one as I would probably be writing for another 25 pages or so, I can only say that because the frames per second are converted from 24 fps to 29.97fps for NTSC the samplerate is better off @ 48, because of the .97 which is a royal #*^@# for anyone in the North american movie industry. Over in Europe with PAL and Secam system(25fps this problem does not apply. With the NTSC system you have to lower the bitrate as well as the fps rate .1% and then convert, otherwise everything is out of sync. With 44.1k there could be a potential (minimally) for aliasing, but the real problem begins when you have to lower the.1% as far as calculating the math is concerned. It is already a major pain in the ass...so 48k was adopted instead of 44.1k. Other than for that I see no reason for a higher sampling rate in sound... as long as your software keeps up...
