Someone from the New Tracks forum asked me if i would share how i made the 'squshi' sound in my latest track 'Disneytrippers'. Well, it's made by manipultating and tweaking a synth-sound. The basic synth-sound was a Virus sawtooth tone of which the main frequency and LP filter were altered by a LFO with a 'random' waveform. This sound was sent through Waves' 'Enigma' plugin and rendered to a wave-file. This wave-file was subsequently loaded into Reaktor's 'Travelizer' plugin, the output of which was sent through a filterplugin i made myself in Reaktor, and then through a spectral delay. The result was rendered to a wave-file again. I used limiters at several points along the processing chain to keep the soundlevels from flying into outer space. So obviously, it was made by just making it up as i went along |

hey boobytrip
thanx alot for sharing the way you produced this sound, you helped me alot to understand how to produce "weird squshi" sounds.
i never thought it was so complicated to get these kind of sounds.
do you think there is a simpiler way to reaching these sounds?
like just tweeking with some kind of synth? |

It isn't always so complicated. It's just a coincidence that i made this particular sound in this particular fashion. You can make squishi-squeeky sounds by using a sawtooth waveform for example and modulating filter cutoff and using a fairly high resonance. Using a chorus-type effect after these sounds sometimes helps. |

i just share a simple i hardly want to call it "trick": lot of times when i m tired to make music, i just load some effects into cubase, and put in many samples i have.
i usually have some 15or 30 band eq, a morphing filter, a morphing delay, and a big and interesting delay like ohmboys. i set a loop and tweaking it, and continuously record everything. then i export the interesting ones as loops, so i can timestretch them if i wanna use it on another tempo.
hope it was understandable, and helps someone out

just like in boobytrips track.
and i dont think they are fullon or classic ,just the opposite- not fullon and psychedelic |

It probably has something to do with the site's player not being compatible with OS X Panther. They're working on it at the moment. I'll keep you posted.
Squeeek ! |

Think Cosmosis has a tutorial on his website.
Check it out.
