Well well well,
This cd brought a smile to my face and a swing to my step!!!!!!
For me SPUN have been dominating the dancefloor for some time now.Just when you think you have heard everything there is to offer along comes another Spun cd.......
1. SOUNDAHOLIX - REVOLUTION OF THE MIND
Soundaholix have started to define their sound now. This track is a great one to open with. Punchy, LOUD, huge grooves and that quirky sounds we love somuch! With a almost domestic like bassline and snapy gms perc loops this is dynamite!!!!!!
2.EARTHLING & BUSHMAN - WAKING LIFE
As we already have witnessed for Spun Out, Earthling and bushman know their shit in the studio. I was suprised with this one. Not so melodic and anthemic, but full power SCRATCHING.The dynamic in this track is very good.Alot of twists and turns...Perfect for around 2am in a party!
3.JUVENILE & CYRUS the VIRUS - FORBIDDEN PLANET
Shanti has been blasting for a while now and with his new project Juvenile these no stoping him...With Cyrus the Virus along his side bringing the ultra high melodies a SURE KILLA in my book!
4.WIZZY NOISE - TROPIC REMEDY
I will be honest with you, I normaly don't care for wizzy noise BUT (the big but), After SethSpun blasted me with their new stuff, I will shut my mouth. WHo knew there was such sounds out there.DARK,TRIBAL,POWER and with The trade mark Spun sounds alongside, whats more to say?
5.GMS & SPACE TRIBE - ALTERNATE FUTURE
For those of you who were lucky to sampple the track 3rd eye by gms & Space tribe, It will come as no suprise whats coming next!
148 bpm. NOW YOUR TALKING! Full power activity with FUCKING REAL SOUNDS! not this thin weedy shit, PHAT MONSTERS.
Welcome back the old GMS!!(KILLER SAMPLE)
6.ALTERNATE VISION - OUT OF THE LOOP
I will be honest with you. I am not such an alternate fan.Great stuff but not my style. It would not be fair for me to coment because like I said it just not me..But for those of you who like it, you will be over the moon with this one!
7.GMS & D-TEK - LOS DERADOS
Also appeared on Alien Project's JUICE (hummm, this name rings a bell!). Killer Gms, If you liked Slingshot / Catapilla then you will love this one. Raw,Rude and Rough..Nice to hear Speedy G made an entrance!I love the way d-tek uses the tb 303, love those acidic sounds man!!!!!!
8.DINO PSARAS - THANK YOU FOR CALLING
Nice to see Dino back again...I was suprise by thw style, not tipical dino at all..I love this one....WIth dirty grooves and traveling melodies you won't want to miss this call! Increadible sample in the breakdown..Only Dino could pull that one off, if you know what I mean, he he he!!!!!!!!
9.GMS & ANTIDOTE - POWER SURGE
wow wow wow.
FULL FUNK MASTER FLEX, The masters at work have done it again.I can see this one being cained at Samothraki.Wicked bass line shpangley sounds sweet little notes and solid rythems.I love it....Very 21st Century track, new tek sounds.Cool, groovy.
10.DYNAMIC - OVNI
And last but IN NO WAY least, the boys from Israel with another end of the night track..Very complex. Killer one for these guys well doneWIcked melodies and a solid bass line hope for good things to come...Hope you keep making the killas like this one.
Well thats all folks!!!!!!Hope you will share my views of this killer release......
Well done spun !!!!!!!!

1. SOUNDAHOLIX - REVOLUTION OF THE MIND
this one opens with quite a deep approach... very deep bassline... good for night...
2.EARTHLING & BUSHMAN - WAKING LIFE
this one is progressing more into a fluffy... coming out of the night... really nice work on this one... I am looking forward to some new Bushman...
this was also featured on new indian label Third Eye Records.
3.JUVENILE & CYRUS the VIRUS - FORBIDDEN PLANET
this one has a nice feel to it... i really like the synth sounds in this one... i looking forward to both thier new releases
4.WIZZY NOISE - TROPIC REMEDY
i like some wizzy.. but this track wasnt much my style.. maybe too tribal.. i think it will grow on me with time
5.GMS & SPACE TRIBE - ALTERNATE FUTURE
its nice to see gms colaborate with a pioneer in goa trance... seems like they are geting in touch with thier roots maybe this track is very suprising...not the typical GMS...
6.ALTERNATE VISION - OUT OF THE LOOP
this is a good floor filler... i believe there was a mixup with the name of this track
7.GMS & D-TEK - LOS DERADOS
hehe... what can i say this one is just really amazing... i love those samples...
8.DINO PSARAS - THANK YOU FOR CALLING
ok this is a very nice idea.. but comon.. its a bit too cheezy for me... good effort.. its nice to hear once or twice but too many times
9.GMS & ANTIDOTE - POWER SURGE
this one is very groovy.. nice outcome fro this colaboration...
10.DYNAMIC - OVNI
this one suprised me.. they got some cool sounds and fx and nice sample
All in all.. i think this is a pretty good release...
My fav are #2,3,5,7,9,10
SPUN crew did it again... Thanks for this good music and keep up.. lots of more goodies coming.. including remixes and albums of killer artists!
and support them.. they are in USA>.. this one is availible in the stores all over !

Ok, I've only had a chance to listen to this release a couple of times, but I'll say it's a bit of a surprise. I'm normally not to fond of the spun style, but there's a few great moments here:
#2. The usual pumping style, but it has a really nice uplifting melody that took me by surprise the first time I heard it.
#4. I can't figure out Wizzy Noise ... they've made some totally blasting progressive nighttime tracks during the years, but I was SO disappointed with their latest album. Then comes this track: The "usual" dark Wizzy sounds, but at 3:35 there's a beautiful uplifting melody.
#6. Pretty fine track with some typical Logic Bomb sounds (Johan is one half of Logic Bomb). It's not on the same level as some of the highlights from the "Unlimited" album, but definatly fine.
#8. Nice ideas. Perhaps it a bit over the top for me, but definatly original.
The rest of the tracks doesn't really do anything for me, but I'm sure they'll leave a lot of dancefloors screaming in joy
My verdict: 6.5/10 DJ pr0fane (Iboga Records) | Multiphase

i really like this compilation, it's got some variation in it.
1) soundaholix - revoluionof the mind ( this is a nice tune by celli and gms. like the highs in this and a good kick).
2) earthling and bushman - waking life ( this is real nice with an amazing melody and a fast bassline).
3)juvenile vs cyrus the virus - forbidden planet ( shanti is doing really well recently and is making music like gms made 2 yrs back, gota check out cyrys the virus too).
4)wizzy noise - tropic remedy ( unlike wizzy noise and really nice).
5)gms and space tribe - alternate future ( wow, the sample in this jus blows me out, nice groovy in the beginning and then picks up like a biatch, hehe).
6)alternate vision- out of the loop(this guy is gona replace logic bomb, i think they have split up. This tune is really nice and reminds me a lot of GOA).
7)gms and d tek - los dorados ( i think thios tune takes the cake in the album, the sample, kick bassline, sounds all perfect every 1 has played it an the crowd goes insane on this tune).
8)dino psaras - thanx for calling ( very much unlike dino's music, better quality better bassline and an amazing telephone samplwei n this, good crowd responce too).
9)gms and antidote - powersurge ( very nice and groovy, good production).
10)dynamic - ovni (they changed their style a bit, nice bassline and perfect for the morning, wonder how the gms rmx is).
good compilation by spun and waiting for much more
boom to all!!@@ |

Ok lets see what we have here except a really ugly cover.
01.Soundaholix-Revolution Of The Mind:Nothing interesting in the 1st track from Soundaholix.I am very very dissapointed from their last releases which offer nothing new or even a little impressive to me.
02.Earthiling Versus Bushman-Waking Life:The first four minutes of this track are rather boring but after that the track changes into more melodic and much more danceable. The melody on 05:15 is really amazing and uplifting BUT the guys decided to cut it suddenly just after 15 seconds from its beggining, this track could be a real killer on this point but unfortunely the ideas of the artists dont match my musical taste.Skip the first half of the track, give a good listen to the other half and PLEASE artists remix this amazing melody for me
03.Juvenile Versus Cyrus The Virus-Forbiden Planet:After William Wallace track i have become a big fan of Cyrus The Virus and try to find any available tracks from him. This is a collaboration between Cyrus and Juvenile and the result is really impressive, this is a fast and melodic track ideal for the dancefloor, highly recommended for every full on dj set.
04.Wizzy Noise-Tropic Remedy:Attack of the Greeks continues on Spun Records with the usual suspects Wizzy Noise bringing us some new fresh sounds before their new album release on the American based label. After loving their work on the Genetic Process Part 2 compilation i am very impressed also by this one,Tropic Remedy is a full on track with many tribal influences and very good percussions throughout the whole track, really nice job.
05.GMS Versus Space Tribe-Alternate Future:This is another typical GMS track that will work for sure on the dancefloor but offers me really nothing new.Recommended for dj use and just that.
06.Alternate Vision-Out Of The Loop:This is a very nice (though cheesy) morning melodic tune that reminds me a lot of Logic Bomb stuff since ofcourse Johan is a member of this group.I like this kind of music since its very joyfull but i am afraid that the Swedish guys have stucked in this style and they urgently need some new ideas and sounds if they really want to impress the people
07.GMS Versus D Tek-Los Dorados:Ok another typical GMS track with really nice and funny samples though, didnt expected more from this collaboration to be honest.Give it a try and then skip forward to the next track.
08.Dino Psaras-Thank You For Calling:Ok this is the best track of this compilation people.Dino used his answering machine in order to create a really innovative track that will do miracles on the dancefloor. The rythm is catchy, the samples cant get more easy to identify and the whole track is perfectly constructed in such a way to make you dance either on a club or at your home.Cant wait for Dino Psaras album release in early September.Worths buying this cd even just for this one.
09.GMS Versus The Antidote-Power Surge:Here we have a collaboration between one of my favorite artists,Serge Souque, along with Bansi and Riktam from GMS.Power Surge is a blending mix of full on and morning psychedelic trance that i personally didnt liked very much maybe because in my humble opinion there are many differences between the music that Antidote and GMS are producing. The track is a really average one with elements from both artists, give it a listen and decide for yourself whether you like it or not.
10.Dynamic-Ovni:Finnally we have Dynamic with a track that for me has many influences from GMS and Atomic Pulse. The track is a real dancefloor killer, there are no new ideas in it but it will rock the dancefloor for sure and its going to become a hit for every full on lover.Great work from this Israeli act but i would like to hear some more original work from them
Pressure is general speaking a good compilation with many styles featured in it and great names appearing in it.My favorite tracks are 3,4,6,8(!!!) and 10 and i easily recommend this cd to everyone especially to full on fans.

no offensive intended, but you're all crazy....
i say this namely because everyone i read praises this new dino psaras track. i think it's horrid. the telephone sounds i find abrasive and repeated way too many times. that, and the vocoded D - I - N - O... too over the top. not trying to be negative, but i simply don't care for it.
on the whole, though, the comp isn't bad. not really anything too new (ie - not groundbreaking), but plenty of usable stuff for the djs. worth picking up for fans of the spun / gms sound.....

This is a nice cd, from gms and the gang.
I like especially Alternate Vision track, since i'm a logic bomb fan... Usual logic bomb style, maybe a bit cheesy, reminds me of logic bomb - fairlight, one of the best tracks ever for me.
Forbidden Planet is also nice, i tend to like tracks with cyrus the virus collaborating (william wallace was great).
In Wizzy noise track i like the drums and djembes, they flow nicely with the music, although the track doesn't vary that much. Good to listen to (sometimes).
Gms vs space tribe: what a terrible colaboration. You can clearly distinguish what's space tribe and what's gms. Horrible track, has no interest at all, same boring stuff all over.
gms vs d-tek: i was looking forward to hearing this track, i have seen it so many times in tops here. What a disappointment. nothing special, usual gms style with some speedy gonzalez samples
Dynamic - ovni: this is a nice track, but nothing special. same stuff all over, deja-vu in their album.
I like the Dino Psaras track, although mist is right. But the track brings some freshness to the album, it seems at lot different from the rest of the tracks... But it is a bit too clubby IMO.
The other tracks are not worth commenting.
Great cover, although the tracks should have NUMBERS before the name, please! Also there are some typos in the cover, being the Alternate vision trackname the worst... This track is actually called Anti-Time, not Out of the loop.
Rating: *** - listenable, good buy for full-on dj's - usual spun style |
