bom to all,
All of us world over agree that more and more people are taking to Psy and are attending parties.....(and these people are not necessarily good people-these are the people who are on the scene for the dope and other reasons not the music)
and please dont think im against new people joining..im absolutely not against that...
but have we ever thought about why this is happening...why are more people joining the psy culture????
who/what is responsible for this
# is it the media who publishes articles about the trance culture being an underground thing and all the negative publicity that is gives to it??
# is it because of the drugs ?(which some people associate with trance)
# is it because of the music ?
# it is because of any other reason ?
and is this growing of the popularity of trance bad for the culture in the long run???
i mean will the underground scene disappear and the raves become mainstream
imagine that happening (hope not). more commercial
or
the growth will benefit the trance culture, people will understand it better and people wont brand the trance people as (dope heads). and other positive thing may happen
there are many different things that cud happen for the better or worse. Im not here to predict but just to explore the possibilities......

bom stashbag,
defi i will agree here that the scene is defi growing day by day and more and more ppl joining it. this is very good. but also we have to understand that not all ppl will join it for the music, they might also be in here for any of the other points which u mentioned above
but i feel this growth is better, as the volume after a while will not make it look like its a scene only for D's and when more ppl remain in this culture they will slowly understand it better.

i can only speak form the mexican perspective...
80% of the people who attends a trance party in mexico is because the drugs and the freedom involved in the trance scene, think about it, in a trance party you can do whatever you want to do, take the drugs you like the most (even the ones which are not related with the psychedelic experience, such as contact glue of other kind of sovents) and no one will complain about it.... thats also a reason of the violent beheavior of the crowd in parties nowadays
freedom without responsability.
10% are there for the music, but only to see international live acts, to see what is happening to know whos gms, skazi, alien project, talamasca you know....
and the 10% is truly a trance lover

usually it involves changes that make you believe it was so much better in the old days, after wich you stick around for long enough for people to get tired of your complaining, after wich you'll decide to stay away from parties and reflect on how great things used to be and how sucky they might seem now. While at the same time new people that are starting their exploration Now all over again back from the beginning with all the amazement and beauty ready to be demolished as years pas by and their first impressions no longer match the everchanging actual reality surrounding them.
you won't get tired of the music, you will get tired of the change. it'll no longer relate to you, everything used to be different, better, nicer. selective memory helps a lot, after all the years of insomnia and alcohol (or whatever drug) consumption during the events you're bound to have lost the recollection of everything that wasn't a prime thrill 
good or bad... i'm happy things won't stay the same forever, and feel sorry for the people that try to hang on to something that has passed us by already. even if this means that at some point i'll no longer be interested in taking part in some of what i consider now the most beautifull events in my live (being only in my mid 20's i find that more than acceptable  )
Let'm all discover psytrance, and hope we can keep up with showing the values that come with it before we are overwelmed by new crowds and unable to do so any longer.
no way that this is ever going to last, but why not have a unbelievably great time while we still can i'm more than happy to still be a small part of it
