Wondering if anyone uses spotify?

I personally love it for finding new music before buying it, and there are tons of it. Labels such as Iboga, twisted, ultimae and many others use it for sharing their music. And that you can do a label search is an excellent feature.

If anyone have a playlist they want to share, that would be awesome?

Wish this service were available in the USA. Is this similar to LastFM?

I`ve never really tried lastFM, but Spotify is short a program where you stream (no delay) music with a bitrate between 160-320kbs for non members and 320kbs for members. It works with a drag/drop function for saving your artist/album/playlist.

In addition you can put your album/playlist offline so it`s always available. And you can use it on several mobile devices (Iphone etc)

The artists get paid by number of plays per song, but I don`t think they get paid much at all, so supporting them by buying their albums/songs I feel is a must

Cool. Thanks for the info, Portis. Sounds a bit different from LastFM. Hopefully it becomes available here at some point.

I pay 10 euro a month so I can have all my playlists offline in my ipod touch. Perfect, and legal.

I've never used spotify myself, and this isn't meant as a criticism in any way, but I came across this article, linked from Ektoplazm, about how much artists would have to sell in order to earn what equates to minimum wage in the US.

Check out how many spotify plays an artists would have to get to earn minimum wage...

http://www.informationisbeautiful.net/2010/how-much-do-music-artists-earn-online/

So as Portis writes, listening on spotify doesn't give very much back to the artist.... Some food for thought           www.soundcloud.com/vonoom | www.vonoom.bandcamp.com | www.facebook.com/vonoom | www.flikflakfamily.com

Listening no, paying for premium perhaps better. Still better than downloading IMO.
