hehe that was exactly my point! And when you EQ'd the channels seperately you did what I suggested in my post (use an equalizer which is different on left-right channels).... hehe happy we are in agreement
Hmm I wonder how much these effects really matter? I do them as well, but I always wonder cos on the dancefloor you dont really notice stereo effects unless you listen hard. Most people have their ear pressed against one speaker anyway (god damn this tinnitus is annoying me)

good point...now you've got me wondering about wasting people's time by starting this thread in the first place
but, even when i'm at parties and have my ears glued to a speaker, some really wicked and cool stereo effects are noticeable and make me stop in my track.....maybe something to do with the final mix? |

It depends on why do you make this FX's?
Are you thinking only About the dance floor
because if so, then you might be right most stereo effects disappear in the party.
But if you think as a musician and as an artist
you wouldn't think only about the dance floor but also about how can you give your music more space and more interest.

It's a fair point We have these 2 speakers so we may as well use them both as much and as creatively as possible!
But I think it is actually bad to _rely_ on the stereo when mixing. I used to use stereo effects sometimes to seperate instruments apart in a mix, until a friend warned me against it....
Stereo should be a luxury rather than a tool when mixing.... (cos the music is often listened to basically in mono).

Cool jhon you must be right i never thought about it this way , i guess it should be somewhere in the middle between using stereo for creativity and not over doing it to harm the good mix for all kind of systems (home and parties).
We Should follow the yellow brick road.
