yeah, it seems to be the trend these days to be part of more than one label (even for unknown people...). I guess they get more representation that way and they can can get booked through more than one label.

many labels obligates the artists with huge contracts that they can't run away from, by stiling their "creator rights" (free translation), I think its good to hear that some labels give their artists this freedom to sign up to more then one label.

Come on... It's done only for promotional purposes. These artists have released 1-2 tracks on that specific label and suddenly they are written as a label's team. As it is a new label, such names being written on the site looks good and appealing. Since it's a label that has no real artists (thus releasing compilations and not albums) except for the label manager himself, they feel they "must" write "big" names.
These artists won't mind since it can bring them bookings, but it doens't mean they are signed in that label.
So it's good promotion for both artists and label.

this has always been the way -- people like MWNN, nick doof etc used to release on dragonfly / tip / blue room. loads of cross-pollination, at the time the UK dance press couldnt get their heads round it and I think its still pretty unique. good on us.

you're right candy actually, I overlooked the other side of it, the label does get a big promotion as well from having more big names on their team.

in japan and switzerland, they usually write more than one label for artists on the flyers. i don't know about the rest of the world though.
