1.Hide And Seek
2.Bitnapped
3.Patchfinder
4The Fuser
5.Battlejuice
6.Stereopark
7.A23
8.Neurosport
9.Soulprint
10.In.Out/Thru
this is one the best albums i've heard in a while,
the guys said that they don't differentiate styles between midi and spiri but this is definately a different style and a perfect complement to the midi album. A little groovier and melodical then there past works and excellent for home listening and parties. 9/10

This is a long awaited album from Spirallianz. Since their last album 'Blast Food', released 2½ years ago Spirallianz have only released three EPs - the Silver Edition series. Not to forget though, that we have seen a lot from their other projects - The Delta and Midi Miliz - Midi Miliz last album released only one month ago. With Stereopark Spirallianz continue their usual style, which is tech-trance.
1. Hide and Seek begins the journey, it starts with some drums and you wait for something to happen. At 02:46 it does with the introduction of an aggressive sound. At 03:17 it explodes and the soundscape is filled, but not quite. They managed to get a string in the end as well, awesome.
2. Bitnapped is next with a pretty strange bassline. You hear some 'pling-plong' sounds that sound really cool but they are soon gone. After three minutes a robotic voice is saying something. This voice continues through the whole track, but in my opinion it doesn't do any good, it’s just irritating.
3. Patchfinder is an old track but that doesn't matter because it's a killer. This seems to be a bit updated version, it sounds more massive to me. A really aggressive track, hard slamming drums backed up with screaming horror voices that creates a melody. To quote Psyshop, Patchfinder is a "ground shaking tech trance monster"!
4. The Fuser reminds me of the Midi Miliz track Mrs. Vargas for some reason; it's kind of the same style. With distorted drums, and a dark string in the background this is a typical Spirallianz track, which means awesome.
5. Battlejuice is the second already released track on the album. It has a very long intro that sounds more like The Delta style - dark and scary. It turns out so well, that you're almost disappointed when the intro is over at 02:40. Massive drums enter here that continue to the end when they are merged with the 'intro' and fulfil this killer track.
6. Stereopark is a groovy track; it has a subtle melody through it. It's not really the usual Spirallianz style, but it still turns out very well.
7. A23 is the strangest track on the album. It’s very soft without the usual darkness. It has some progressive feeling over it. Unfortunately I don't find it good at all. They should have changed this track to 'Spotrunnerz' which is a killer track previously released on the same EP as Battlejuice was.
8. Neurosport starts by playing around with some drummy sounds until half the track when they are accompanied by an organ sounding melody, but it's soon gone. At the end it's back again and it seems to finally give the track a meaning. But now the track is over.
9. Soulprint is next with that dark and gloomy stuff I want to hear from the spiral alliance. The dark strings and a pretty melancholic melody make this a pure night track.
10. In.Out/Through ends the album with a downbeat track. It reminds me of The Deltas track 'Basic Beat'.
Altogether tracks are pretty much the same, except the last. A23 is also very different. Best tracks for me are 1(!), 3(!), 4, 5(!), 6 and 9. So far I've always liked Spirallianz tracks better than the Midi Miliz ones and this album continues that trend. I give Stereopark 7,5/10.

A definate evolution in the duo's sound. Much more technoish in their ideas than ever before, a while lot groovier than their previous works as well. I prefered this one over the midi miliz album which kind of tried to hide the rough edges that these guys know how to use so well. Dark and moving, this is probably my favorite techtrance creation to date.

Honestly, I'm a little surprised by the lack of buzz around this album. If I had to pick my favorite CD of all time, it would be either this one or X-Dream's "Irritant".
This is the second release from Arne and Wayan within the last couple of months and it is difficult not to compare this album to "Passages", which was released on Boshke Beats in December. The impression that I get from "Passages" is that of a tightly-integrated concept album which explores the idea of the psychedelic trip as a cosmic journey. It is an excellent album, but some of the tracks, imho, were written to fit the concept and are not as interesting in themselves. Passages also goes the farthest in the realm of techno of any Spirallianz/Midimiliz releases.
Now here comes, Stereopark, the 136th release on Spirit Zone... For one reason or another, it is a more trancey album, as has been already noted by other posters. The CD is fresh, with new sounds and ideas that I haven't heard anywhere else. It has an intriguing intro track in Hide&Seek, a blasting techno/trance monster in Patchfinder, an exceptional symphony of darkness in Battlejuice (probably the best track these guys have done). Honestly, I can't pick a track that I like less than the others in the sequence that starts with Battlejuice and ends in Neurosport. That "weeeeaaaauuu" sound that keeps repeating through the Stereopark track has been planted in my head for three weeks now and I can't get it out. I need help! And then In, Out/Thru makes me wonder if there shouldn't be an ambient release from Spirallianz...
Is this album psy trance? I don't know, maybe not. In a scene where artists have already attempted to blend anything with anything else, attaching styles to releases has lost much of its significance. What you'll hear on Stereopark for sure is wicked, trippy, psychedelic music. Feel free to call it whatever you like!
Favorite tracks: 1,2,4,5,6,7,8,9. Yup!!!
And I'm going to finish this post with a wish to all people who enjoy Arne and Wayan's music that we will not have to wait another two years before we get another release from them. I think there's a label out there now that will make sure that this will not happen .
Love and Light!!! |

This is one of my biggest positive surprises of 2003 (after Faktor D - Licked), as I don't usually like their style.
This is a very nice album though, and very varied ... a lot of changes, and it keeps surprising me at every listen. There is a few tracks that I'm not to fond of though, but overall this is a very high quality release, and I can highly recommend it to everyone.
7.5/10.
