Spirallianz - Battlejuice EP {Spirit Zone, 2002}

This is Spirallianz's last EP out of other 2 EPs already released in a series of 3 EPs called Silver Edition.
This EP clearly shows a great progression by the Spirallianz crew, and intreduce us with another 2 mindblowing tracks, among many more from the factory of Arne & Wayan, those guys are 3 steps before everyone else who's into this kind of music.
Side A - Battlejuice <7:10>
Kicks in with some haunting squeeks, and braking noises, slowly progresses and adds a few distorted voices on top of them, creepy intensive synthes are played, adding another dimension to this intro, then it brakes...
Suddenly, a pumping bassline and a strong kick appears like out of nowhere, making you stomp until the arise of the synthes from down under... strange haunting war-death kind of atmosphere...
It all adds up to an hypnotic, hair-raising and sad sad melody and a mind bending bassline. Very Trancy and 100% dark one for the smaller hours of the night on big speakers, things can really get above the average in this track. [9/10]
Side B - Spotrunnerz <6:30>
Opens up with a jumpy bassline and strange noises in the background, it progresses pretty fast, and a high kick is thrown inside, the rythem goes up... slows abit... a few bubbling sounds, and some noises that reminds me of a train horn (?)
Although a bit weird, nonetheless this is a solid track, kind of groovy with some techno influences. [7/10]

excellent EP!
BattleJUice reminded ,e of 1 of my all time favorite, the almighty One Way Ltd.
Spotrunnerz is nice also, but stick 2 the good Spirallianz!

Geez louiz, Battlejuice has got to be among the finest tracks ever released by Spirallianz, among others like :

most of you guys seem to prefer the a-side of the new e.p. and i have to admit it is a real good track. but for i prefer the wicked sounds i like spotrunnerz much more, this is a crazy track for the night.
alltogether: very charming |
