why do many djs think that louder, faster, fuller and harder is always better?
the key is hidden in contrast and waves. up and down up and down. the right relativity can make a poor track sounding like a killer. this principe drawed in a nice fairy tale, thats all you need to blow people away.

Ok now to me psy trance is quite a task to learn beat matching with compared to some other dance music as all those acid-like sounds, sound messy when you have one set in one ear and another in the other.

My tip is to start learning with more minimal sounding stuff with a progressive structure. This way you can take your time getting the beat ready before you bring it in and there's less going on in the track to mess your head up.

Never be to eager to bring a track in when learning to mix. The way I did it was:

1. Get the tracks in sync.

2. Listen to the track as you count to 30.

3. If still good, drop when ready... if not try again.

Obviously once you get more confident with your beat matching you'll be able to tell the beat is out way before you get to 30, but this should be enough space to let you know which track is too fast or too slow.
