If you download a vocal sample then firstly, there is a chance that someone else is using the same sample, and secondly if you don't find them to rip yourself then (for me anyway) the track is less 'you'. All my samples have a sort of personal meaning to me, I get a lot from physics documentarys, because I like physics, and most of my head trips are about the universe.
Sup to you of course.
..anyway, try

the term 'laziness' and the term 'music making' contradict.
sorry i had to add this. have read the word 'lazy' too many times lately
really, try to rip from movies, documentaries, games etc. after you've fitted this self-ripped sample to your track you'll be more satisfied. if you want to rip from games: usually, game data is packed into archives located somewhere in the game directory. oftentimes these can be unpacked, and all game samples can be listened to. you'll find mission descriptions, radio conversations and stuff.. it's fun.
best wishes,

If you feel lazy about something maybe you don't like doing it...
DVDs are way easy to sample from.
They make file rippers to rip media out of stuff like games or computer programs. I can sometimes rip neat wavs or aifs out of computer games or playstation games with them, for example I am using mripper right now. Also a guy I know will sit there with a hex editor and rip audio files out of archives and package files manually. (Till I showed him mripper)
Most rippers are pretty oldschool DOS programs, and some are annoying to use, like from back in the Impulse Tracker/Scream Tracker days...
Anyone know of a good Win32 based ripper? |

WOW.. I´ve never seen these old school rippers... If so, maybe I would like it! lol
But for DVD rip I use A1 Audio DVD Ripper. Very easy to use, nice interface...
Sometimes I open the video file with Cubase, and the audio track is just there...

Here is where I got Mripper.
http://www.baccan.it/index.php?sezione=mripper&email=si
I know I used to have a better program a long time ago but I can't remember the name of it, and so I can't find it. This program is a little bit hard to use, and I kind of hate it, but it works. You can rip images, 3dmodels, sounds, mods, etc out of any type of files, exe's, dll's, random package files of games.
