Penguin Audio meter is really good, but hard to setup. http://www.masterpinguin.de/products/pg-am/brochure.htm

Paz is in waves bundles, but its not that accurate, Voxengo span is more accurate, but if you can get the penguin audio to work it will blow both of them away!           Cytopia.org

i have PAS analyzer v.1, the stand alone version, and i have this little problem..

-this stand alone version receives whatever is selected in the recording of the volume panel (e.g. auxialiary, line in, wave, or master et.c)-

so, i place a kik playing 4/4 in any tempo in any sequencer or sound editor, and the Analyzer gives me 2-3 slightly diffirent results in a repeated sequence, as if there are 2-3 diffirent kicks playing. PAS Analyzer displays either lack of lowmids or boosted lowmids, which of course is super noticable on any common eye.

first i thought i'd be sequencer's problem (and it'd be really serious if your sequencer circles a sound without any cause), then i tryed this test with everything i have and plays sound (even winamp).

what i hear is the same kick, no matter how loud i have my speakers, with no frequencies cut or boosted within a period. so i suppose it's not soundcard's problem either.

if i record this 4/4 kick, the sound wave is 100% solid with no detail changed on any repeat of the kick (or any other sound of course)

So, is it just how PAS analyzer receives the sound ? i also used diffirent settings, 48khz, 41khz et.c same results..

any clue what's happening?

p.s. somehow my job is done when listening to all elements of a track, or when listening audio cd's and mp3's. but when cutting frequencies from a sound it's almost like playing lottery.           extreme
