RME Audio Digicheck's Totalizer is by far the best and the most precise analyzer I ever encountered. It is so good that I cant see myself produce music without using it constantly for my sound choices. Amazing tool

Hmmm....my attempt at joking failed as usual.
Analizer plug-in....get it?
Well....nm.
It's called analyzer and reading analizer made me get silly associations.
I mostly use PAZ and indeed find spectral analyzers quite useful, at least during mastering.

I do know that D-Alien is only interested in the availability of nice 3 dimensional Anal-izers
but... does no-one know about this excellent one from Voxengo?
http://www.kvraudio.com/get/1023.html
It's free too.
Incidentally, spectrum analysers are something I use only rarely. Often just to check if there are any unwanted subsonics that I need to filter out of a particular sound.
I don't deny that they can be very useful tools though.
Cheers,
Bill

What - that RME's Totalizer is a great tool?
Or that you choose your sounds based on what they they look like, rather than what they sound like?

yes it is a great tool but mainly i use it for checking the sub frequencies so that the levels are hitting the right db. its pretty handy for levelling off those frequencies - say for example if theres a big boost at 60hz and a notch at 70hz.....its difficult to tell these things by ear and feel alone (IMO) especially when youre studio is not treated and especially when you have to mix at quieter levels.
i also use it just to check that the high frequencies are hitting the right level too and its also useful for quickly and accurately finding obvious peaks in sounds like pokey resonants.
i also used to think that you shoudlnt mix with your eyes but that was when i was using a shite analyser.....which is why im bigging up RME now
of course i dont choose sounds by the way they look (what yuli said) but analysers are good cause they can also teach you alot about how to eq sounds....since ive been using the totalizer(for about a couple of months now) ive a much better idea of how to pinpoint different frequencies.
its good to take of advantage of these tools. its a bit weird adopting them in to your techniques at first but its always for some greater benefit in the end.
edit: btw i was using PAZ before and its nicht so gut. ever noticed that constant peak at 60hz???

Yes, it only works with the RME hardware.
I do have Totalizer installed on my machine, but honestly if you ignore the hype on RME site about how fantastic and wonderful Totalizer is, then this excellent and free analyser will do just as good a job:

ejejejeje cool you have very good sense of humor. by oldy i ment experienced heheheeh
Cosmosis is a name TO RESPECT!!!
yeah i have voxengo products. they are great but a lot CPU consuming... for me Elemental products are better.. dont know.
anyway.. none of this products have the color 3d Image representation of the sound spectrum exept the IXL inspector and the EAC. Sure its not esential tool. sure man can make music without usung any of this and trust its ears.. but IMO its not profesional. there are some things that happens on the lower frequencies that we must SEE so that we can make them sound better. IMHO....
