I've just spent the last 4 hours watching tutorial videos about this synth and I don't even have it. it's fucking incredible looking. Looks perfect for cutting edge psy thats really evolvish and psychadelic....anyone around these parts use it?? I don't think I've seen it mentioned..or at least not as much as it should be considering the quality of sounds coming out of it
the modulation is easily the most intuitive I've ever seen...and the live modes/stacking...idk it pretty much seems perfect.

What about alternatives, for those of us without megabucks to drop? I've had some luck recently coaxing some neat evolving atmospheres out of PhilterPlug's WaveMorph Synth, thru tons of effects, of course.

OK - I had to try it before spending $300+ on it, but holy-fucking-shit if any soft synth is worth that much, this one is. Hour of playing with an incredibly small portion of features and banks and my tune sounds so much more diverse and complex.
It feels different from preset-diving in other synths...much more enjoyable |

yeah it sure is CPU/RAM hungry....I've never seen my comp this maxed out....90% of physical memory used and if I have all 20+ instances of it running in my track at the same time my CPU goes to like, 95% lol---though I blame part of that on absolutely totally shit Presonus drivers.
thanks for the links makus....guess this thread is a little redundant :\
I can totally see your point about using too much of the patches and not actually designing your own sounds, I fell victim to a good couple of hours of preset browsing last night. On the other hand though, you could completely ignore the patch library and still be blown away by this thing...it'd be one thing if all there was were patches, but within minutes you can take any of the patches and mangle it into something completely unrecognizable from the original patch.
The sample library (especially the tesla-coil synth!!! fucking sweet!) in combination with the steam engine gives really dramatic results.
The CPU/RAM drain hit me hard at the end of last night though, I needed more sound effects to fill up my loop but adding another instance of Omni would crash live....so I had to open a new project and bounce a bunch of potential FX into an audio track then send that to my original project
