i m more and more curious about omnisphere... this moog expension make me even more curious as the model d is one of my favorite synth that i would dream owning.
in fact i m not sure there is some minimoog in the expension , couldn t find out... but still very inrested into it and omnisphere |

I'm buying Omnisphere this week or the next. "try-before-buy'd" it for long enough, and the 1.3 and 1.5 updates that I'm missing are fucking massive. the 1.5 upgrade in and of itself is worth the $500 for that Orb craziness.
and yeah Obelizk, that instrument is fucking sexy...though 2 ipod touches on top of 2 ipads? really? LOL
so....seems like $600 total to enter a contest that I'm sure to lose. Oh well 
Kind of stoked to figure out what's in that Bob Moog library...buchla modular patches? YES PLEASE

i m broke...wish i had some money to spend , how much is the expension? and what is orb?
for what do you find omnishpere good man? just trying to get a idea of what i can expect with it.. i watched some small demo on you tube but nothing mindblowing. |

the synth in and of itself is $500, which includes all the updates, the latest being 1.5 which introduces the Orb and a bunch more patches/samples.
The Bob Moog tribute expansion is $100 and includes 2 gigs of patches/samples designed by a bunch of pros.
Trying not to sound too much like an ad for this synth, but it's really quite astonishingly good. It comes with a 40 gig sample library. The latest version boasts something like 4-5 thousand patches and 8,000 samples? Usually synths with tons of presets and samples are shit. These are pure awesome.
It's hard to describe just how many sounds are in there. The textures/evolving atmosphere/pad sounds are just fucking incredibly good sounding. The sampled instruments sound really good. Even if there werent shittons of patches and samples, the synthesis engine is fantastic.
It's a writers block killer for me - seriously every time I sit down and go preset browsing I find amazing sounds that I've never heard before...and I've been using it for months...and its very easy to alter the patches to sound nothing like the original.
IDK - if I were you I'd just try-before-buy it.

Looks like I'll be buying Omnisphere this week, as apparently here in Portland there are still people showing up at midnight to wait in line to grab an iPad. Fuck that shit.
