BLACKFILM (HU) / SUBHEIM (GR) / XSOZ (GR) Live in Greece!
12.04.08 - x3 Release Party @ BIOS (Peireos 84, Gazi, Athens)
A triple release party for three different artists coming from 3 different record labels. BLACKFILM, SUBHEIM and XSOZ will give a live performance, supported by dj Hyperion on the decks. Each of the three artists will present his new album in BIOS's recently restored basement, which also carries a brand new sound system! In collaboration with Tympanik Audio and Fich-Art, Spectraliquid hosts a very special gig that embraces a big range of dark electronic music, along with video art projections and beautiful visuals.
BLACKFILM: An incredible new artist, whose debut alum will be released by Spectraliquid during the first days of April 2k8, will present his work to crowd of Athens, in a performance that will be difficult to forget. Surprisingly hard to to describe his music in simple words, Blackfilm's creations have strong classical music elements, as well as as soundtrack feeling, while also adopting a new-jazz concept in combination with downtempo, ambient electronic landscapes. Cinematic, orchestral outbreaks and melodies that totally sink into desperate, black pathways, lonely images bond in perfect harmony with urban self-destruction, all given through a unique film-noir ambience. It is not strange that he has been tagged as: "Amon Tobin in his darkest version".
SUBHEIM: Full of fragile melodies and a rarely sad atmosphere, "Approach" is Subheim's debut album, which will be released in a few days by the US-based label, Tympanik Audio. A part of Approach was recently performed live by the artist on December 2k7 in Underworld Club of Athens, during another event organised by Spectraliquid, hosting Daniel Myer (Haujobb, Architect). This time, the athenians will have the chance to feel every moment of the new album as well as take a listen to some unreleased new tracks and remixes. Known for his deeply emotional, passionate live performances, the Greek artist will deliver a blend of downtempo, ambient, abstract IDM sounds combined with pianos, cellos, long-release synthesizers and chaotic female vocals in a stunning live set.
XSOZ: While recently joining the roster of german label Fich-Art (Asche, Monkrom etc.), Xsoz's debut album has been released just a few weeks ago and guarantees an abyssic industrial journey through cold, mechanical sounds and inhuman distorted soundfields, positioning the artist among the top in modern day noise music. Utilising minimal structures, Xsoz builds up a terrifying atmosphere while reserving an overall dark ambient feeling. By using often slow beats that balance between monotony or complexity of rhythmic noise, he will present live his new album "Basic Topology", which definitely promises to "freeze" your heartbeats...
DJ HYPERION: Quite known in the athenian scene for his very interesting sets as well as his delicate choices, dj Hyperion aka Devilfish will deliver the best warm-up set for this special night, always well-equipped with the most up-to-date idm/experimental/ambient/downtempo music. And experienced dj that ha shared the stage with artists like Solar Fields, Gus Til or Bong-Ra he promises to create the most usiting atmosphere, while also palying some unreleased new tracks!
