New (was in October 2001) debut release from the SF Bay area's Spectral Concepts, featuring a line
up of all tracks exclusively produced by North American artists. A modern perspective of the North American psychedelic sound.

The compilation starts off with a funky, progressive groover by Opher India Drop, hailing from NYC
and owner of Purple Oz Distribution. You may also remember Opher from his earlier project, Sinister Funk, which left the world drooling for more with
its sucessful releases on labels such as Hadshot, Shiva Space Technology, and Alchemy Records.

Next we're devasted by the blistering beauty of Penta's "Zeynep". After plenty of play from DJs such as Goa Gill, this well-kept SF Bay gem shines on his first release!

Wormfood - Ug, is next. California native producer BJ Rigney pours out his metallic laced visions of dance floor madness.

Next in line is San Francisco's Bufo, Rob Rayle & Adam O'Hana, two veterans of the US electronic & psychedelic scene. Adam is the co-founder of Eyephunk Distribution, as well as being one of the people responsible for giving America its first international Trance festival (Fusion Fest.)!

We now travel to the other side of the coast to Montreal, Canada where Nuclear Ramjet reside. These guys have played a major role is
creating some of the finest Trance to have been exported out of American soil.

Flying back to the west coast we're greeted by the thundering bass sounds of Phosphene, aka Ghreg on Earth. SF is proud to have this inspiring
musician and amazing DJ to call its own.

Going north to Vancouver, British Columbia, fresh out of Graphic Sound studios is Data Entry, another cutting edge Canadian artist already world renowned for his release on labels such
as Hadshot & ZMA.

Now back to San Francisco for the funky Trance sounds of Tendril. Not only does this guy create some wicked sounds, he is also responsible for the brilliant artwork on this release!

To end the compilation, Minimlaniml (aka Jeremiah) "closes the line" with his sleek, minimal progressive sounds that unleash the animal within.

The CD is presented as a killer 3 panel fold out 'digipak', including bios of each
artist involved.

I think its the first time im listening a whole complication which producted by an Amrican artists !?! and let me tell ya , the resolts are not so bad at all ! (i even tend to like what i hear)
most of it dancefloor stuff from unknowen , new and freash artists with a great sound production melodic , minimalistic , kranchi , funky tech-trance .

the complication strats with a realy funky & groovy track by Ofer IndiaDrop AKA Sinister Funk ,which left me with the taste for more.. next its Penta with a powerfull and kickin track but still not too full on.. also nice melo . defenetly one of my favorit on this complication..
Wormfood with dancefloor tribel madness ! .. scary night time track , a must hear in my opinion..
few boring tracks and then.. Data Entry !
somehow this complication become very minimalistic from track to track . Data Entry a hard to define track.. very kranchi and scary tune. lots of scraches , great percussion work and few very wired noises .. this is a must hear on dleka hehe ..
the last track in this complication is from Minimlaniml . let me tell ya.. their music sounds exectlly as this group called ! minimal progressive sounds that unleash the animal within.
a nice super minimalistic ending to a super nice complication in my opinion...so try it out guyz\girlzz end have fun...

This one was written by our very own Shahar, and again brutally, and quite obnoxiously taken from the old forum. Another excellent review that shouldn't be forgotten, especially when it comes to such a great CD.

Spectral Concepts (the people behind Spectralpsy) take a step forward to lively up the psytrance community in North America and release their first compilation with only North American artists. It's very diverse, a bit raw at times, but on the whole, refreshing, very dancable and quite psychedelic.

Sinister Opher on his own as IndiaDrop opens the CD, with something completely different. Hmmm.. how to say it.. Astral doing progressive trance?? Forget it. Progressive with that scando clubby sound, yet full on and very very emotional morningish tune that I'd love to hear with the sunrise outdoors. I like it lots. Penta is a new one, and this is quite a respectable debut- Zeynep (T2) is a full on crazy morning track with total alien transmissions all around it. Very powerful and very psychedelic. Wormfood starts Ug (T3) with a minute of weird noises to be followed by a dark farty kick, a lot of hi-hats and a general noisy commotion in a mechanic rhythm that is quite absorbing, and builds up nicely. A bit too much on the hiss factor, though. Bufo with Smokin' Feet (night mix) (T4)- a very suiting name for a full on hard and fast percussive stormer on the rough side of things. I like the whistling, but it gets too much for me pretty fast- would probably work just fine on the floor. Canada's Nuclear Ramjet clean the atmosphere with Evolution 3.3 (T5)- gotta love that straight-in-the-stomach kick, just jump on it and ride on! Nice minimal atmospheric and psychedelic piece- things are happening there! One of my favorites. Phosphene takes things into darker realms with Axiomatic (T6)- dark driving mechanic bass and kick, great little percussion mind-games and a good solid atmosphere. It even opens up nicely in the end- perfect piece for the night. Another favorite. Data Entry, the second Canadian representatives here, continues with Grey Area (T7), A real weird chaotic piece of music with simple rhythm and totally distorted singing and melodic lines on top. It all comes out highly psychedelic. I think it needs a little work on the mix, ‘cause it doesn't all sits together well enough. I'll follow these guys for sure. Tendril is Ed, which I've been sharing the 604 list with for 4 years now- it's good to see he's out there making music. Changeling (T8 ) has a very indoor sound to it, industrial atmosphere is strongly felt. I'm not sure it will get people dancing too much, still it is funky and is fun to listen to at home, if you haven't got a soft brain, that is. Minialanimal is Jeremiah the Spectral man himself. First congratulations on the name- gotta love it. Close the Line closes the compilation- a soft percussive minimal track with strong atmosphere layered on a rough metallic bass line. I love those alien horn sounds, and all the percussion and stereo sound games. Beautiful, just gotta work on the sound!!!

Bottom line: There's nothing new here, BUT it's all a little different than we're used to, which gives it a fresh taste. A good and very welcomed start from America. Recommended. Favorites: 1, 2, 5-7, 9           Both teams played hard

just my 2 cents: This CD deserves alot of loving. Very first American release, very professional, great packaging, and GREAT music. The reason I am bringing this back from the dead is I feel that this CD kind of slipped through the cracks. Lots of Americans and Canadians have never even heard this. I can understand why this one was ignored in Europe but it is worth a listen, at the very least. Check it out people.           Both teams played hard
