I think, one of the most important things, is that synthesizers 'language', is equal or similar in most cases. What makes them different it's the options that they give to us tweaking the sound (the parameters that we can play with), and its sound quality. Knowing well the 'functions' in a synth, we probably know how to do it on another synth.
We just have to know, what does the cuttoff, the resonance, the oscilators, the envelope, etc...
I've learned faster, when I got my first analogue synth, 'cause there's no submenus hided behind another menus! What you see, is what you got.

language unfortunately is not a good way to convey how to do what you ask(which i´m still not really sure what is) but my hunch is you´re after some kind of lfo modulation on your sound.
you can get this using almost any synth, soft or hard. if your synth has a modulation matrix of some sort try getting the lfo to control parameters such as osc pitch or cutoff. play around you have nothing to lose.ofcourse the simpler the synth you use the easier you will have in creating patches since too many parameters can be daunting at first and maybe take your mind away from what you originally intended. oh yeah buy a book about analogue synthesis or search the net for info. most soft or hard synths nowadays are based on mathematical approximations of analogue subtractive synthesis.understanding the relatively simple concept of subtractive synths and their way of working is essential. the way of operation(excl. the buttons and dials and the sound ofcourse) is essentially the same. this is really basic knowledge for any aspiring synthesist so hit the books:)
