A bitcrusher over a resonant sweep will give a vocal effect.           Mastering - http://mastering.OOOD.net :: www.is.gd/mastering

TWO PARALLEL BANDPASS FILTERS WITH HIGH RESONANCE.

play with the cutoff point to get the syllabal you want, and you can lfo one of the filters to amke it move

You can make a formant patch on pretty much any synth. Set an LFO (or oscillator if the LFO won't go into the audio frequency range, you can disable keyboard tracking) in the audio frequency range and have it modulating the cut-off frequency of a band pass filter which has a high resonance setting...right before self oscillation to be precise. Then simply by playing around with the modulation index, LFO frequency and the cut-off frequency, will make the synth spit out the desired vowels.
Saw waveforms yield the best results.

I picked this technique up a while back.....

A lot of people ask how to make these vowel sounds. Here's how to make one with nord Lead. If you have e-magic soundDiver, I will give you the exact values to have more accurate settings. The values are from 0 to 127, except from the mod env amount that is from -128 to 127

LFO 1:
Wave=Any
Destination=Any
Rate=0
Amount=0

LFO 2:
Destination= Any
Rate=0
Amount=0

Mod Env(This makes the sound go yieai. You can disable it and make it manually with the pulse width modulator):
Dest=PW
Attack=78
Decay=72
Amount=-127

OSC 1:
Waveform=Triangle
FM Amount=81 (This is very important for the character of the sound. If you turn it the sound changes drammatically. You must get it just right)

OSC 2:
Waveform=Pulse
Fine Tune=-10
Semitones=-12(Turn it left from the middle until the light comes on. This also is very important for the character of the sound)
Keyboard Track=On

Sync=Off
Ring MOdulation=Off
Pulse Width=76 (This changes the sound from yieai to ieaiy to eaiyi, etc. when the mod env is on. Moves the order of the vowels back and forth)
OSC1/OSC2 Mix=18

Amplifier Envelope:
Attack=0
Decay=126
Sustain=0
Release=0

Filter Envelope:
Attack=0
Decay=0
Sustain=126
Release=0

Filter:
Cutoff=50
Resonance=12
