What's the deal? Half the time when I login some guy is trying to tell me to check out his thread about some new song he's produced, or some pet thread, or something else. I have never even seen these people before, so evidently they are just spamming random isratrance members. Isn't this frowned upon? It certainly aggravates me... |

yes in PM's usually. I had 2 indian "artists" spamming me last week and when I politely asked one of them to stop and make a public post instead he had the nerve to tell me that I was closeminded and that all other people appriciated his private PM's with links to his music.
It's gone from bad to worse lately. Next time I get one of these spams I am going to send a copy to the mods. |

I've gotten some messages like this recently ... Giving me links to threads I should check out, or give feedback on tracks. To be honest I just wanna reply "go fuck yourself", but ... we are civilised aren't we?

I just tell them polite to go and post it in public and let people decide for themself if they want to click the link or not.
Sadly some write back quite angrily. Especially those super spammers from India.. Where's your karma guys?  |

new tracks is an excellent idea. as for spam dont really think one can do much about it...how do u react to spam in ur email? if absolutely none gets thru, pls tell me which spam killer u use

It's quite different getting spam in your email from scripts and whatnot, and from people on a forum like this. On a forum like this there is a lot one can do to prevent spam. It's kinda hard sending anon. messages here, don't you think?

you are right, we should all henceforth report spam to the mods, in pm, but practically, i dont think it is possible to prevent it...
another idea is to start a spam section here where everyone posts the unsolicited pm's they recieved helping apple pies take over the world since Damion predicted so

well cant u see the reason for someone sending u a msg in private???
thats only because that person mite have wanted an honest review from someone whom he/she thought had a fairly good idea to judge a particular track or wotever! and the person mite have thought that without a pm his track would kinda go unnoticed by the receiver of the PM(bearing in mind the number of days/weeks/months have gone in making that particular track)
and well about the indian section well what can i say...a whole lot of young/talented people who wanna improve their skills and want some feedback. and they for some reason perceive the bearer of the pm to tell them how his/her track could have been better etc etc...
cmon guys talkin abt PLUR n what not....one single click of a mouse button...and wots the big deal anyways..in case u do have the time do check out the track n try giving some sort of feedback...in case of time constraint or pure dissaproval of such a case..jes delete the pm...or reply back to the sender sayin "am sorry cant check out ur piece of work. and please dont send me ur tracks in the future thru PM"
cmon people....wheres ur spirit?

If you had read my previous posts you would have noticed that when i did exactly as you suggest I had a angry rude answer back. So please dont lecture me or anyone about PLUR here when it's obvious that most of these spammers are the ones that need to check up on their "spirit" and manners.
And since there's tons of posibilities in this forúm to promote yourself in public then I see no reason whatsoever for people sending links to people they dont know for the sake of PROMOTION. They just send it random to people.. And they surely dont send it because they value your opinion.. They just want to exposure their music to as many people as possible... talented or not. |

yeah very true...well what diff does it make.. when they r so many artist wid tht blue name in our community.. come up wid their kinda musik and labels...
though many of em r not able to boom ppl by their musik..
so why cant we give it a glance ..and who knows.. the best is still yet 2 come...
PLUR is what we happen to follow here..
but i think PLUR is just 4 the sake of sayin...
who practices what he preaches...
