Space Funghi Project Debut Album!
/Elektrik Psylocibe Experience(SIRC001)
gSirius C,h which is the recently founded chill-out sub label from Japan-based Sirius Records, has released the first debut album of the gSpace Funghi Project.h Entitled the gEleltrik Psylocibe Experience,h itfs the brainchild of Dr. Panic from Mexico, who is well known from the seminal trance act gThe Melovskys.h The Melovskys have released an album on TIP New World, and this release from Sirius C, the gSpace Funghi Project,h showcases the different styles of music that this talented guitar player and programmer is capable of.
Reminiscent of Miles Davis in a number of ways, the incredible programming and technical expertise of the live instrument players (drums, bass, guitar and sax.) mixes many different styles and moods together. The result is a hybrid of electro/lounge/ambient/drum nf bass/rock/fusion and jazz, and also helps conjure up images of explosive spectacular sunsets in the bandsf native sunny Mexico. In fact, the music is almost like a visual kaleidoscope that takes the audience through a fusion of sounds and sights.
Track Information:
This album was created through 20 recorded live sessions in 15 days, and 10 months spent recording and trying to fuse the human touch of a band with psychedelic sounds.
The result is 12 tracks of Space Funghi, a tribute to all the jazz/rock players of the 60's, which for us was one of the best prolific eras of all time ,where the main idea was to experiment on sounds with diferent styles of music, to create tone generators that will give great emotion.
The members of Space Funghi Project made this album as a dedication to the 1960fs. They wanted to create some sort of homage to those heady times, and incorporate the instruments of that special era with the electronica of the 21st century. The exceptional attention to technical and emotional details can be heard all over the album, from the heart-wrenching wails of the saxophone, to the beat of a real drum set, and to the woody and warm sound of the upright bass.
The combination of spacey melodies, cool grooves and the human touch allows for the listener to feel the universality of this genre-defying debut album. Sirius C is not only proud to present, but also highly recommends this musical jewel from the land of the sun, Mexico. This album contains eleven tracks, including a bonus track and is definitely not to be missed.
