that's a shame

here you have some people from Colombia and Venezuela in the forum:
http://forum.isratrance.com/viewusers.php?country=Colombia&rank=1
http://forum.isratrance.com/viewusers.php?country=Venezuela&rank=1

There are many more than these. I don't understand why they don't appear in those lists. Check old posts in this forum and search for more people, you will see that there are many users and many activity in both countries.

yes, maybe anyone of the forum members from Venezuela can tell us about what happened there.

I has an idea of trouble with the police, but never thought this would end in a halt of psy activity there.

I´m sure there are other reasons for this situation...

yes im from Venezuela and ive been told a year ago about the end of the scene, was about a group of ppl (i dont know, and if i knew i wouldnt mention their names here) that ended it and had to be with a trouble with police n stuff. :S they should do something about it, i dont think is hard reviving the scene, i think by starting with something very little things might grow up again, i have my best desires cuz is very sad to us (party people, artists and such). i cross my fingers that something starts up!
Cmon Venezuela! lets Psy!!!very talented people in the Psychedelic Trance Scene here!

cheers!

Hey everyone... the scene was destroyed after a very sad incident in an open air party near the beach, there is some background on this same forum... what was built with a lot of perseverance and hard work was suddenly stopped and forced to retrieve. The situation in Venezuela is very tense, as some of you might know we are under an authoritarian goverment system which is radicalizing more everyday. People are having a real bad time with low cash inflow, high inflation, overall decreasing economy, energy and water shortages, high criminality rates, kidnapping, etc... free speech is also threatened everyday, private radio and Tv channels have been closed by the goverment, press people arrested, etc...

So after the incident, most of the important scene persons left the country to find better living conditions. The rest of us are just trying to make a living here, but there's very few space for parties and as you can imagine, if it's difficult just to have a job and make a living, organizing even a small club party is risky and can put one in additional danger situation with the police, dealers, robbers, etc...

It's really sad and unfair what happened to our small scene. We had accomplished interesting stuff, venezuelan artists releasing tracks in important dark psy labels, open air events in paradise beaches, traveling to nearby countries to integrate with other south american scenes, etc...

I miss my friends, the parties and the good vibes... after all it was a release from the nightmare we are living. I miss making psychedelic music... since everyone left it's been hard to get some inspiration.

But let's hope for the best for our nation. When things get better, I am sure our scene will be reborn.

The psychedelic scene in Colombia is being reborn through the uTovía Organism!
Indoor events every month or two and multiday outdoor festivals 4 times a year.
You can find our info at www.utovia.org or you can contact me on facebook as Peter Pann.
Cheers!
