Is there perhaps someone who does soundtracks for games?
If so, do want to share their knowledge a little? Ie. I'm just about any special things that do not occur during the production of "normal" music

Are you guys talking about 'commercial viable games'? PS3 /PC / xBox / Wii stuff?
..for commercial games it is clear - you have to hav thousands of euros or gold en masse and pay a whole orchestra or maybe a composer at first, there should be a nice start ..for a realistic start, it's like any other music , even though better format than redbook standard for a CD - never forget the 24 Bit at the end, for a game. So could be nice to start all files in 32 bit float..(before mastering/dithering etc) but have not really any clue about it, these just a simple thaught.
Much success .

Hey Alien Bug,
I work for a new games company called Fraktalvoid, we are about to release a new game for Android ipod and ipad platforms.
What specifically did you want to know?
Mind the quality as it has been compressed 2-3 times because of added fx at last minute (not by me) so quality has degraded but i used the kit from vienna synphonic orchestra and a couple of synths like virus ti, sylenth1 and of course various sample cd's and apparently they use sample cd's heavily in games music production according to my boss who used to work for Sega japan.
For the actual game and levels i had to tone down the music quite a bit and have it looped for 40 seconds to a minute and make basic sort arrangements and melody as to not take the focus away from the gameplay.
For sound fx i used various sample cd's and most of the sound's were either layered with another sound/reversed chopped and some had distortion others maybe bit of reverb as an effect and of course a lot were dry with minimal processing.
I think it's different for a actual console (need to mix for 5.1) than it is for the phone or ipad.
