hi there just a question:

I would like to know if a setup of 2 monitors:
http://www.jblpro.com/eong2/EON10G2.htm

and 4 speakers:
http://www.jblpro.com/products/portablesound/prx/prx525.html

is enough soundsystem to make a dancefloor shake or do I need also some subwoofers?

If there is someone who has a tested soundsetup for aproximately 500 people please share the details in order to know....

thanks a lot for the advice!!

I just about satified a small indoor party of 200 people with a pair MRX 525's.

500 people... 2 sets of those and the other 2 monitors should be enough.

Though if its outdoors, prepare to lose a lot of sound.

I tried lots of PA speakers for my humble mobile setup and the sound quality out of the MRX525 is absolutely fantastic. It will satisfy any discerning audience if you use a decent amp. Good luck

If both 15" woofers in the speakers are producing full range, it makes me wonder if they will really produce the sub-bass that you feel. You can't judge a speaker on specs alone though. And as Tomos suggests, the location will make a big difference too.

Can you listen to them ahead of time?           Keep The Faith,

I was under the impression that of the 2 15" woofers, one was doing the sub and the other the mid.

I have the MRX, not the PRX.. not sure if that makes a difference.

I assure you, these PUMP out the low end beautifully. None of that ugly cardboard thump you get from the massive (but crap) free party rigs the local hippies love.

if its not loud enough i would try to make the circle a bit smaller untill you get the pressure you like. i think your set-up should do it and maybe realize that some people (like me) dont mind it so much to dance some hours on a little bit less then max volume. so whats up? you make a party somewhere under a volcano?

i appreciate all the comments, and well thats the idea, good parties in beautifull locations, you can check out some of our parties here www.psynomads.com the thing is we have decided to take our parties to another level, we want a massive sound somewhere in the tropics and by massive i dont mean huge nor that big, but it has to have enough body and force to make people dance
