hi i was wondering if anyone would like to point me in the right direction as to achieve those big reverb sounds that you hear a lot in progressive psy.

aside from the obvious, like messing around with a reverb delay unit/plug and white/pink noise layering pads and a side chain

does anyone have some advice for me or can point me to a link or where this is discussed?

for big rising builds i think it has to do with lots of layering maybe using a nice pad patch and layering it heaps then running it through said delay and reverb.

and for hits and stabs maybe use noise verb delay and eq...

this is what I'm doing so far but keen to learn more

Hey Elad,

great music here but not close to Vibra/Freq/Antix style - fortunately!

Weird colorcombo BTW           Making what you want with what you have

It is all about the reverb delay, chorus, stereo spread, sidechain etc... they all make for it. Vibrasphere is def reverb delay, stereo spread, and sidechain. White noise automated.

when i think of those guys i think about very well made synth sounds, crystal clear charactiristic story telling layers with sharp bitcruched fx sounds with deep delayes and reverbs. Catching melodies, dreamy bells, with spooky vocooded voice noise that fuckes with your head. Swirling around on a heavy Bassground with a massive pounding kick. And all those years of practis that has beein put behind those nice tunes.

bOm..

it sounds like vibrasphere put a waves morphoder on their reverbs...at least, when you put a morphoder on your verb it ends up sounding a lot like vibrsphere, if thats what your going for

cant u add delay and reverb on good source as well ?
offcourse any good sound start and end and go all throu good sounding chain. one step to shit it and its shit. and freq trix are obvious , one melody with ALOT of endless delays and huge reverbs.. thats the hole "prog" sense that he put in there by never play the full melody until the end yet always "sneak" it in with those effects (and others)

Hence the name progressive, cause its progressing all the way through the end of the track.. Bit by bit, step by step, in small increments, subtly..
endless delays and huge reverbs are not necessary for the track to be proggy, but who doesnt like them? They just make it better..           http://www.facebook.com/xrayzproductions
