hi...=)
i'm wondering what do you people use for audio-editing, and why. i use soundforge 5.0 for couple of last years and thinkin about changing it to something else, like the last version of soundforge or wavelab. i've never worked with wavelab, but a lot of people say it's better that soundforge, so your opinions please...

I think between these two isn't really a better or worth.

Wavelab features vsts, i am not sure if the newest version of soundforge also does it. But this would be an advantage of wavelab.

Wavelab does do its processing, file saving, etc A LOT faster than the last version of Soundforge I used, although that was a couple years ago so they might have improved upon that since then. For most casual users' purposes there isn't too much of a difference elsewise.           New Album: Jikkenteki - Flights Of Infinity

I prefer sound forge. I find it much easier to do cutting/pasting and detailed sample editing there.           ________________________

Likewise. The most recent version of Sound Forge also handles VST plugins and lets you automate both VST and DirectX plugins.

SoundForge 7, has better noise reduction engine, acoustic mirrors, not to mention the fact that on the editing side, no wavelab can come even closer. In sound forge you can zoom in so deeep soo deep, you'll see each Hz dotted.

Actually, I use both... the montage section of Wavelab is ideal for doing demos and mix CDs but for mastering and general editing I much prefer Sound Forge.           Mastering - http://mastering.OOOD.net :: www.is.gd/mastering

it really is a matter of taste, and depends on the way u like working... They both are just as powerfull... I switched when vst's came around, becuase at the time soundforge couldn't load vst's, this is probably solved by now... but i never went back, i like both just as much... But sometimes is miss the ugly yet very useful processing tools from soundforge..
