Soundcloud sound quality

Just wondering if anyone knows wether there is a difference in quality if the sample you upload is in 128kbps/320kbps or in wav.
I know that if the link is downloadable you'll obviously hear there differnece but for streaming purposes does soundcloud bring everything to 128kbps or will a wav/320kbps mp3 sound better?
Any info would be great

Was confused when it says it streams at 128kbps i thought that it wouldnt make a difference uploading anything over that, obviously it does tho, cheers !
