hi,

i've a not so modest setup 4 rack synths (emu, novation, waldorf and casio) and i'm a bit stuck because i cant find a suitable soundcard with all the inputs i need.

my synths total 6+ stero outs (or 12+ mono) and most soundcards dont have hald these.

the trend is 2 ins and 4/6 outs but i need 2 outs (or 1 stereo... is enough... i don't mind about a headphone out also )and at least 8 mono ins... but i would like more...

the only soundcards suitable are the terratec 88 and the maudio delta 1010 but bout have 8/10 outs i don't need.

what can i do? these cards are not that cheap and i dont like to buy something i dont use (surplus outs? for waht)...

can i buy an adpter dac with 12 ins and plug it to my pc? there's a behringer dac with 8(?) ins but i miss how does that funciotn...

can someone clear my ideas? i really need help :/

enjoy the summer [[[[]]]]

if I were you I'd get either a 16ch mixer, or another soundcard that u have.           Crackling universes dive into their own neverending crackle...

it gets more expensive with the 16chn mixer...

and i cant use vst pluggins as efects in the mix

the xxi century route, i believe, is to dish the mixer

so let's say u have 32 input soundcard, what exactly is different from having a mixer instead?

what vst plugins can u use 'in the mix' with a wide i/o soundcard, that u can't use with a mixer ?

Also, I think getting a mixer will get you more possibilities in connecting and routing etc. - it'll cost a bit more than a soundcard for you maybe that's right.           Crackling universes dive into their own neverending crackle...

Might want to look into the Echo Gina24. I have one and I absolutely love it. 2 mono ins and 8 mono outs. Plus it has the ability to be daisy chained together if you bought a second one giving you 4 mono ins and 16 mono outs.

Sound quality is top notch too.

It is technically discontinued now that the Gina3G is out but you can still widely find them. Echo still does software updates too. Hell, I think the Gina20 got a software update not long ago and that has been discontinued for a while.

RME hammerfall dsp has lots of inputs,
but lots of outputs as well.

check it out its a great card, great converters,
and always they're making software updats.

that was exactly my problem, dude.
i gave up and decided that the most important thing is sound quality. that is why i bought the rme hdsp 9632.
iŽd also suggest you to buy a small external mixer and connect this mixerŽs main out to the input of the audio interface.
doing so youŽll be able to record the vst plugz in real time, one at the time but you can do that step by step. you cannot have more than one active input at the same time in cubase anyway.
good luck.

I work with a 16ch mixer and Delta66 card,
with only 2 stereo ins and outs and I don't
have your problem man...

Get a decent mixer to handle this problem.

Peace..

Finally found what i needed and it's cheap

I'll buy a Marian Marc X soundcard and 2 Adat ADA Converters

16 mono inputs!!! That will be enough!
