Soundcard sound output when playing through winamp, etc

I have an M-Audio Fast Track Pro USB sound card. It works fine when playing sound through Ableton, but when I want to listen to something in winamp/wmp, etc. I get no sound output. Nothing is muted in the different levels and my default playback is set to the sound card. I haven't been able to find any options in my control panel or winamp/wmp to fix this. Does anyone know what I need to do? Thanks!

I'm not sure I understood whether or not you've reviewed your settings here: Options->Preferences->Plug-ins->Output->Nullsoft DirectSound Output->Configure?

There is an ASIO output plugin on the Nullsoft website.
It works pretty well. Bypassing the XP Kernel Mixer and gives you slightly better sound quality.
