How good is a SB Live WOW (?!) Value? just bought a new comp (Pentium 3 1000, 256 ram, 30 gigs mem, 7,200 speed, Win 2000 pro built on NT).

Hey Jason,
I think the SB Live is pretty nice and gives adequate sound quality and performance (Max sample rate is 48Khz, most of the sound progs run with in 30-40 ms latency. The card is only 16-bit capable). It has a nice feature called soundfonts, which practically allows the SB live to become a sampler. The SB live also includes FX, some are better, some less. I've played with SB live for 2 years with all sorts of music progs, and it was great for the beginning. All in all, you'll have fun with the SB Live, and is some stage you'll need to progress.
